The Jane Goodall Institute is the tangible demonstration of Jane’s vision turned into reality. Just like the rest of the world, JGI staff all over the globe are at home, continuing to work tirelessly to fulfill our mission. So much of what we’re reflecting on now as a team is that our work too often fills our focus, as each of us is completely committed to our efforts to protect great apes and the natural world, improving well-being for people, other species and our planet. But as we work toward that mission, we can sometimes forget how to restore ourselves and recognize our connections to one another.
It’s crystalline right now, more than ever, that the community we’ve built as a JGI team, and with our audiences, is precious – it is what allows us to do this work. Many of us at JGI are lucky to be able to stay at home and continue our work remotely; for those who cannot we hope this list provides some level of comfort, the knowledge that now is the time to lean on community, and for each of us to step up for others. This idea that we’re not alone in this collective of hope keeps us going. From our team to yours, all around this beautiful planet we share and aim to protect, here’s our list of the things that inspire us and help us carry on no matter where we are and no matter the challenges before us. Join us in sharing these and your sources of inspiration to grow hope and keep us all moving forward.

The Jane Goodall Institute is a global community conservation organization that advances the vision and work of Dr. Jane Goodall. By protecting chimpanzees and inspiring people to conserve the natural world we all share, we improve the lives of people, animals and the environment.
