Dr. Goodall at the world premiere of Disneynature CHIMPANZEE in Orlando, Fla.

For two weeks in the spring of 2012, as Disneynature premiered their real life adventure, Chimpanzee, moviegoer’s had the opportunity to support the Jane Goodall Institute through the Disney Conservation Fund. The funds raised through Disneynature’s Chimpanzee, helped provide food and care for more than 150 rescued chimpanzees at the institute’s Tchimpounga Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Center in the Republic of the Congo, protect the forests of the Tchimpounga Nature Reserve in which the Center is located and provide environmental education to students in and around Tchimpounga and surrounding villages.

While the institute’s collaboration with Disneynature and the Disney Conservation Fund around Chimpanzee may be the most public and splashiest project, it’s certainly not the only one. Dr. Goodall has continued on as a conservation hero for Disneynature’s other movies, including Bears and Monkey Kingdom and the Disney Conservation Fund continues to provide support to the institute’s programs large and small.
